Amy Reyes, Director of Instruction

``Seeing the sparks of understanding and confidence ignite in a student’s eyes when they feel success drives me. There’s nothing more rewarding than empowering a student to realize and actualize the potential they have.``

Amy Reyes is the Director of Instruction at Eardley Education Solutions. As Director of Instruction, she works hand in hand with our instruction team and parents to tailor a learning plan for each student that will help them achieve their learning goals in both live and virtual sessions.  Every student is unique and Amy strives to meet students where they are and to work collaboratively with their team to maximize student success.

She has years of experience working with hundreds of students ranging in age and skill level, including those with diagnoses that may affect reading and writing ability, comprehension, math, and executive functioning skills. She has overseen the progress of students and guided non-readers, years behind their peers, to confident readers that are at or above grade level.

Amy believes that at the heart of education and remediation is relentless compassion and sparking curiosity. We all know the feeling of failure, and the key to overcoming the fear of it is encouragement and breaking what seems like a daunting task into digestible pieces. With the right mixture of guidance and challenge, students begin to build their confidence and independence.

I believe that patience, and humor should be interwoven to push a student toward conclusions independently. When a student seems unsure, well-placed humor mixed with positivity and warmth is imperative in my teaching style, and to make students feel comfortable and confident.

I work to connect with each student as a person, and take note of their interests so that moments of frustration can be turned into vital lessons, or low-risk and low-stress chats. I believe it’s crucial to be able to joke and lighten the mood so each student can work with as much mental dexterity as possible.

I am dedicated to utilizing research-validated programs to push each person to their academic potential. With four years of experience in delivering, planning, and overseeing instruction in nationally recognized remediation programs, as well as comfort in parsing school requirements, I am able to individualize instruction for each student’s specific needs.
