We collect information about your student using our Learning Skills Assessment, outside evaluations, parent interviews, and professional collaboration to build a crystal clear picture of their needs. We develop a complete understanding of your child’s needs so we can create a transformative learning experience that is just for them.

We come equipped with answers to both why your student is struggling and, most importantly, how we can help them achieve their goals. During your one-hour consultation, we deliver a clear plan, length of intervention, and expected post-instruction improvement.

We finally celebrate our student’s growth and update their Learning Skills Assessment to measure progress and plan our next steps. This second phase of instruction focuses on transitioning back to the classroom. Students are ready to begin applying their new skills to school with their Learning Coach!

Programs We Believe In
If your child is having difficulty with learning to read, reading fluency, or spelling, the Seeing Stars® and LiPS® programs will benefit them. Both programs focus on building the component parts of reading including phonemic awareness, word attack skills, and symbol imagery. Our instructors focus on providing students the tools to build and strengthen their reading and reading fluency in order to close gaps or get a boost before school starts.
Students who struggled with reading and language comprehension during the school year may benefit from the Visualizing and Verbalizing® Program. This program focuses on developing the connections between language and imagery. With the Visualizing and Verbalizing Program our highly skilled instructors can provide your child with the necessary tools to help your child feel more successful when school starts up again.
Even students who do not speak English as their first language can benefit from our summer programs. Our instructors have helped students from all over the world improve their English skills quickly to gain proficiency. We use Socratic questioning and imagery based language to help them create the imagery needed for understanding.
The On Cloud Nine® Program is a great option for students who encountered difficulty with their math concepts during the school year or who want a boost before school starts. This program focuses on building mental images to anchor abstract math facts to more concrete concepts. In turn students develop a deeper understanding for math and the reason behind it.
Executive functioning is a set of mental skills that include working memory, self-control and flexible thinking. These skills are essential for success in the classroom and help with everything from general organization to studying for exams. Our instructors are skilled in providing our students with the tools needed for stronger executive functioning skills so that they can feel confident and prepared going into the next school year.
Theories We Believe In
We believe that combining pictures and words improves reading and understanding. Dual Coding Theory, developed by Dr. Allan Paivio, shows that imagining and using language together enhances learning and memory. By creating mental images while expressing them in our own words, we strengthen comprehension and make learning more enjoyable. Dr. Allan Paivio’s research highlights how using imagery and language together improves reading skills and connects what we see in our minds with the words we use, making reading exciting and effective.
We believe in the power of Socratic questioning to develop thinking and enhance imagination. By asking thought-provoking questions, we encourage critical thinking and stimulate the creative process. Socratic questioning prompts children to explore different perspectives, analyze information, and make connections. Through this approach, we foster deeper understanding and encourage imaginative thinking. By engaging in Socratic questioning, we empower children to think critically, imagine possibilities, and express their thoughts vividly.
We believe that understanding the science of reading and its research-based principles is crucial to unlocking the full potential of every learner. The science of reading encompasses evidence-based practices that emphasize phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. At Home
Our in-home learning programs are the perfect solution for families who want to ensure their child’s academic growth without the added stress of time-consuming and costly after-school travel. With our dedicated Learning Coaches, your child will receive personalized, one-on-one instruction right in the comfort of your home. This approach not only saves you time and money but also provides a familiar and comfortable learning environment for your child. It eliminates the hassle of commuting and allows your child to focus solely on their learning.
Virtual Instruction
We offer our programs online through secure, interactive video conferences, making it a perfect fit for busy families, students residing out of state, or those living abroad. You can join from anywhere and enjoy the same advantages as attending in person. This flexibility lets you balance your schedule while gaining important reading skills regardless of distance. We can even arrange a mix of virtual and in-person sessions to accommodate your schedule!
Summer & Winter
Our intensive summer and winter sessions offer students a chance to significantly advance their education during school breaks. We help bridge learning gaps and boost confidence with individualized reading, spelling, math programs, and more. Our multisensory approach, combined with gamification, allows rapid progress. We also provide group instruction and parent workshops, catering to home, school, or virtual learners.

CHADD (Children and Adults with ADD) is a membership organization that produces the bi-monthly Attention magazine (for members) and sponsors an annual conference. CHADD was founded in 1987 in response to the frustration and sense of isolation experienced by parents and their children with ADHD.
